Mitsubishi and its partners awarded 1.7GW offshore wind projects in Japan

Mitsubishi Corporation Energy Solutions Ltd., announced in a statement that, a consortium represented by Mitsubishi Corporation Energy Solutions Ltd. received the notification from the government of Japan that the consortium members had been appointed as operators for the promotion-zone offshore wind power generation project.

The 819MW Yurihonjo project off Akita Prefecture will be developed by Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation Energy Solutions, Venti Japan and C-Tech Corporation. It will consist of 65 12.6MW GE turbines and is scheduled for commissioning in December 2030.

The 479MW Noshiro Mitane Oga project also off Akita Prefecture will be developed by Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation Energy Solutions and C-Tech. It will consist of 38 12.6MW GE turbines and is scheduled for commissioning in December 2028.

The 391MW Choshi project off Chiba Prefecture will be developed by Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation Energy Solutions and C-Tech. It will consist of 31 12.6MW GE turbines and is scheduled for commissioning in September 2028.

The joint developers are also partnering with companies including Amazon, NTT Anode Energy Corporation and Kirin Holdings on a regional promotion strategy and have made concrete proposals under its exclusive public occupancy plan.
